AuCaDo
Australian Cattle Dog
Rescue Mid-Michigan

Courtesy Listings
Available Dogs

Here are the current courtesy listings of Blue and Red Heelers looking for forever homes. These Cattle Dogs are not in my rescue at the moment, and remain with their temporary fosters or owners. These dogs must be spayed and neutered before adoption and rabies vaccine current. AuCaDo Rescue does not know the temperament of these dogs, and we suggest taking your time and research these dogs before adoption. An application should be sent to the rescue and if approved, will be passed along to the owner or foster. If an adoption does take place, the owner and the adopter should make a donation to AuCaDo Rescue. Remember, AuCaDo Rescue is a 501(c)(3), so donations are tax deductible.

If you are interested in adopting one of our Cattle Dog courtesy listings, please complete an adoption application. We think they are all treasures and hope you will find your special friend with AuCaDo Rescue Michigan. Check out the petfinder.com listings also for availability.

"Riddick" ACD Male
Available in Mount Clemens, MI

Riddic

Riddick is an energetic 4 year old neutered male cattle dog. He is a blue heeler with a double mask 36 pound ball of fun. He loves to work. He has been through focus class and his first class introduction to agility. Riddick is potty trained, caged trained, and knows his basic obedience such as sit down and wait. Oddly he is not the toy kind of guy but very food orientated. He will live for that treat and loves running with his cousins a cattle dog mix and a min pin mix. He has the time of his life running with his sister the husky mix. And his neighbor Shepherd next door. He loves using his senses at the local dog park. He would be better having a buddy. But would be ok with 100% attention. He is independent but a great working partner on course. His will makes him worth that finish line. Sad to say I am not able financially to give him the career he deserves. I feel he is wasting in this house full of young kids that over stimulate his senses. I am going foster till that right home comes along. He is a great Friend that needs more then I can give. He protects his yard and barks at the things you need to know of. Door bell, who needs a door bell. He knows when people are here and is happy when he see's us. This guy would make the athletic enthusiast a great partner. Help us find this boy that partner he deserves.

"Shelley" ACD Mix
Available in Lansing, MI

Shelley

Shelley is a year old, Beagle and Cattle Dog Mix. She is being fostered in Lansing, MI. Shelley has been fostered since she was a small puppy, and that means she has been homeless for over a year now. She has a Beagle looking head and ACD looking body. She has the ACD disposition by what her foster family tells me. She is a velcro girl. Her foster family has raised her since she was a pup, so she does not have the issues that some rescues might have.

DOB: November 2005 Weight: 38 lbs. Shelley is a beautiful, sweet, loyal dog. She was abandoned as a tiny puppy and has spent her young life in APB's foster care system. She has grown into a marvelous dog. Shelley is very smart and learns commands easily. She gets along with other dogs but may be too much for cats, unless they are accustomed to active dogs. Shelley's foster home is one without children, but she should be fine around kids over 10 years in age. Shelley is crate trained, too.

Since she is half beagle, and beagles are "all nose", we would strongly prefer she go to a home with a fenced yard. Shelley is healthy but does need weekly medication and daily supplements to control nighttime urinary incontinence. She is accident free with the medication, but it helps to keep her on a regular potty schedule, too. We can't believe Shelley is still in foster care - she is a really wonderful dog and should have been snatched up by a good family by now!
